Everything in the Bible is true, and it happened just the way the Bible says. We can’t see God, but the Bible shows us what He’s like. The stories in the Bible are one of the ways God shows us how much He loves us and how we can be friends with Him. Everyone say, “The Bible is God’s story!”
The Bible shows us that God keeps His promises. Last week we learned that Noah built a big boat called an ark because God told him a flood was coming. Noah’s family and two of every kind of animal were in the ark. God promised to keep them safe inside. It rained and rained until the whole world was covered with water. Everything outside was destroyed.
It took a long time for the water to start to dry up. After a long time, Noah opened the window of the ark to look outside. Noah sent out a bird to see if the water had gone away. The bird came back because there was nowhere to land. The second time, it came back with a leaf in its beak. The trees were above the water now. The third time, the bird didn’t come back at all. The bird had found a new home. Soon it would be time for everyone to get out of the boat.
When it was dry enough, Noah and his family came out of the ark. The first thing they did was worship and thank God for saving them. God kept them safe, just like He had promised.
God also made a new promise: God promised that the earth would never be destroyed by a flood again. God put a beautiful rainbow in the sky to remind Him of His promise.
We know this story is true because it’s in the Bible in the book of Genesis. This story tells us that God always keeps His promises. When God tells us He will do something, He will do it! we can trust that God will take care of us, too!
